The Victories of Moses
Joshua 12, verse 1. Now these are the kings of the land whom the sons of Israel put to death, and whose land they inherited beyond the Jordan in the east, from the valley Arnon to Mount Hermon, and all the land of Araba in the east. Joshua 12, verse 2. These kings were Sihon, king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is in the valley, over part of the valley and half of Gilead toward Jabok, the border of the sons of Ammon, Joshua 12, verse 3. and Araba towards the sea of Chinneroth to the east, and as far as the Sea of Araba (the Salt Sea) from the east, the way toward Beth Jeshimoth, and from Teman below Ashdoth Pisgah; Joshua 12, verse 4. and Og, king of Bashan, who remained from the giants who dwelt in Ashtaroth and Edrei, Joshua 12, verse 5. and who ruled from Mount Hermon and from Salcah, and all Bashan as far as the borders of the Geshurites, and the Maachathites and half of Gilead, to the borders of Sihon the king of Heshbon. Joshua 12, verse 6. Moses the servant of the Lord and the sons of Israel struck them down, and Moses gave them as a possession to Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
The Victories of Joshua
Joshua 12, verse 7. Now these are the kings of the Amorites whom Joshua and the sons of Israel put to death on the other side of the Jordan by the sea of Baal Gad in the plain of Lebanon, and as far as Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir; and Joshua gave this to the tribes of Israel to inherit according to their portion, Joshua 12, verse 8. in the mountain and in the plain, in Araba and in Ashdoth, in the desert and in the South—the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Joshua 12, verse 9. The kings of these were the king of Jericho, the king of Ai, which is near Bethel, Joshua 12, verse 10. the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, Joshua 12, verse 11. the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, Joshua 12, verse 12. the king of Eglon, the king of Gezer, Joshua 12, verse 13. the king of Debir, the king of Geder, Joshua 12, verse 14. the king of Hormah, the king of Arad, Joshua 12, verse 15. the king of Libna, the king of Adullam, Joshua 12, verse 16. the king of Makkedah, the king of Bethel, Joshua 12, verse 17. the king of Tappuah, the king of Hepher, Joshua 12, verse 18. the king of Aphek, the king of Lasharon, Joshua 12, verse 19. the king of Madon, the king of Hazor, Joshua 12, verse 20. the king of Shimron Meron, the king of Achshaph, Joshua 12, verse 21. the king of Taanach, the king of Megiddo, Joshua 12, verse 22. the king of Kedesh, the king of Jokneam in Carmel, Joshua 12, verse 23. the king of Dor in the heights of Dor, the king of the people of Gilgal, Joshua 12, verse 24. and the king of Tirzah—all these kings equaled thirty-one.
