Psalm 128, verse 1. 1An ode of ascents.
“Many times they warred against me from my youth,”
Let Israel now say;
Psalm 128, verse 2. 2“Many times they warred against me from my youth,
Yet they did not overcome me.
Psalm 128, verse 3. 3The sinners schemed behind my back;
They prolonged their lawlessness.”
Psalm 128, verse 4. 4The righteous Lord cut in pieces the necks of sinners.
Psalm 128, verse 5. 5Let all who hate Zion
Be shamed and turned back.
Psalm 128, verse 6. 6Let them become like grass on the housetops,
Which withers before it is plucked up;
Psalm 128, verse 7. 7Like grass with which the reaper does not fill his hand,
Nor the gatherer of sheaves, his bosom;
Psalm 128, verse 8. 8Neither do those who pass by say to them,
“The Lord's blessing be upon you;
In the Lord's name, we bless you.”
