Psalm 47, verse 1. 1A psalm of an ode for the sons of Korah; for the second day of the week.
Psalm 47, verse 2. 2Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised
In the city of our God, in His holy mountain,
Psalm 47, verse 3. 3Well-rooted in joy throughout the earth,
The mountains of Zion, the sides of the north,
The city of the great King;
Psalm 47, verse 4. 4God is known in her palaces
When He helps her.
Psalm 47, verse 5. 5For behold, the kings assembled;
They came together;
Psalm 47, verse 6. 6They saw her; thus they marveled;
They were troubled; they were shaken;
Psalm 47, verse 7. 7Trembling laid hold of them;
There were labor pains, like a woman giving birth.
Psalm 47, verse 8. 8You shall wreck the ships of Tarshish with a violent wind.
Psalm 47, verse 9. 9As we heard, so we saw
In the city of the Lord of hosts,
In the city of our God;
God established her forever.
(Pause)
Psalm 47, verse 10. 10We pondered Your mercy, O God,
In the midst of Your temple.
Psalm 47, verse 11. 11According to Your name, O God,
So is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
Your right hand is full of righteousness.
Psalm 47, verse 12. 12Let Mount Zion be glad;
Let the daughters of Judah greatly rejoice
Because of Your judgments, O Lord.
Psalm 47, verse 13. 13Encircle Zion and embrace her;
Describe her towers in detail;
Psalm 47, verse 14. 14Set your hearts on her power
And observe her palaces,
That you may describe them to another generation.
Psalm 47, verse 15. 15For He is God, our God,
Forever and unto ages of ages;
He will shepherd us unto the ages.
