Psalm 93, verse 1. 1A psalm by David; for the fourth day of the week.
The Lord is the God of vengeance;
The God of vengeance declares Himself boldly.
Psalm 93, verse 2. 2Be exalted, O You who judge the earth;
Render the arrogant their reward.
Psalm 93, verse 3. 3How long will sinners, O Lord,
How long will sinners boast,
Psalm 93, verse 4. 4How long will they utter and speak wrongdoing,
How long will all who work lawlessness speak?
Psalm 93, verse 5. 5They humbled Your people, O Lord,
And they maltreated Your inheritance;
Psalm 93, verse 6. 6They killed the widow and the resident alien,
And they murdered the orphans,
Psalm 93, verse 7. 7And said, “The Lord will not see;
Nor will the God of Jacob understand.”
Psalm 93, verse 8. 8Now understand, all you without discernment among the people,
And all you fools, at length be discerning.
Psalm 93, verse 9. 9He who planted the ear, shall He not hear?
Or He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
Psalm 93, verse 10. 10He who chastises the nations, shall He not reprove them,
He who teaches man knowledge?
Psalm 93, verse 11. 11The Lord knows the thoughts of men are vain.
Psalm 93, verse 12. 12Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord,
And whom You teach from Your law,
Psalm 93, verse 13. 13So You may give him rest from evil days,
Until a pit is dug for the sinner.
Psalm 93, verse 14. 14For the Lord will not reject His people,
And He will not forsake His inheritance
Psalm 93, verse 15. 15Until righteousness returns to judgment,
And all the upright in heart possess it.
(Pause)
Psalm 93, verse 16. 16Who will rise up for me against evildoers,
Or who will side with me against the workers of lawlessness?
Psalm 93, verse 17. 17If the Lord had not helped me,
My soul would have almost sojourned in Hades.
Psalm 93, verse 18. 18If I said, “My foot slipped,”
Your mercy, O Lord, helped me.
Psalm 93, verse 19. 19O Lord, according to the abundance of grief in my heart,
Your encouragements consoled my soul.
Psalm 93, verse 20. 20Shall a throne of lawlessness be present with You,
A throne that frames trouble by an ordinance?
Psalm 93, verse 21. 21They shall hunt for the soul of a righteous man
And shall condemn innocent blood.
Psalm 93, verse 22. 22And the Lord has become a place of refuge for me,
And my God, the helper of my hope;
Psalm 93, verse 23. 23And repay their lawlessness to them,
And according to their wickedness,
The Lord our God shall destroy them.
